Remarkably, the AlcoPops only dates back around fifteen years and the term Alcopops itself just about ten years.  Invented in Australia, initially as a way of using one farmer's surplus of lemons after an exceptionally good harvest, alcoholic lemonade was picked up by a sharp executive from Merry down Cider and launched in the spring of 1995.

 

 

Merry down's Two Dogs alcoholic lemonade was planned to be the first on the market, but over much of the country  was beaten to the bar by Bass's Hooper's Hooch. Appearing initially to be just a bolt-on to Bass's existing Hooper's Ginger Brew, an alcoholic ginger beer which had carried the flag raised by the Wiltshire Brewery at the end of the 1980s with its Stonehenge Real Ginger Beer.

Successfully launched in 2004, Roxxoff drink was the first vodka mixed energy drink and continues to be the only AlcoPop to include the additional and proven benefits that can be derived from ancient Chinese herbal sources to  improve energy levels, counter the effects of stress as well as to slow down the aging process and have valuable effect on Lipid Metabolism.
